Amiens has filed a complaint after monkey chants targeted Guingamp's goalkeeper, Teddy Bartouche-Selbonne, during the reception of the Breton club on Saturday. The Picardy club announced on Tuesday that the complaint against X was filed for the offenses of « provocation to hatred or violence during a sports event » and « non-public insult due to ethnic origin, nation, race or religion ». According to the complaint, the monkey chants came from the North stand, located just behind the goal, where Amiens' supporters are usually seated. Amiens claims to have provided the police with surveillance footage and camera images from the Guingamp goalkeeper's goal. Anyone recognized as responsible will be subject to a complaint, a commercial stadium ban, and judicial proceedings. Guingamp's goalkeeper, Teddy Bartouche-Selbonne, was « logically revolted » by these actions. Both clubs, Amiens and Guingamp, denounced these acts in a joint statement published on Sunday. French football stadium stands occasionally face racist behavior. Lille's club announced that it would file several complaints after « hate speech and racist insults » from some supporters during the club's trips to Belgrade and Strasbourg. Amiens and Guingamp have taken measures to combat these behaviors and promote a respectful environment in stadiums. The incident occurred during the 15th day of Ligue 2, and Amiens is taking concrete steps to address the issue.
